Megacities and bicycle planning, Wheelpaper, the official velocity 2010 magazine selected my presentation of Mexico City along with New York, Shanghai and London to report about bicycle culture and the different ways to implement bicycle infrastructure in mega-cities, being the first world velocity conference, in its 30th aniversary it turns out to be very important to share knowledge of what is happening out of the "Dreamed bicycle friendly world Europe is for the two wheel vehicle."

It is important to remember that even having great expansion the bicycle use in European cities it only counts for 10% or 12% of the total bicycling in the world, being Asia, India and in general third world countries and emerging economies where at least 80% is happening right now.

Within the near future, probably no more than 10 years, another 6 or 10 cities will join and even surpass the actual 20 Mega-cities club, that is why is crucial to learn of this interesting living lab, what is possible and not to be implemented in Mega-cities; strategies, data, methodology, economy and other facts related to those conglomerated world spot that in the near future will rise from 20 to 30 mega-cities, recently cities host more than 50% of the world population, then bicycle friendly strategies for big cities need to be updated for future megacities.
